Former Mass Effect Lead Animator Comments on Andromeda’s Lack of Gameplay

Production might not be going great.

Mass Effect: Andromeda got a brand new trailer at EA’s press conference today, though we didn’t get any new gameplay footage. Andromeda got its first trailer last year, and we got to see a bunch of concept art and animations – similar to this year’s trailer. Unfortunately, we don’t have any new details about the game yet.

Jonathan Cooper, the former lead animator for Mass Effect 1 and 2, took to Twitter after the showing and commented about the disappointing showing.

Of course, we have no clue how the game’s production is going, but it looks like it must be going pretty slowly, considering that we haven’t gotten a lot of story details or a proper timeline. From Cooper’s tweet, it’s clear that he thinks the lack of gameplay showing for two E3s in a row means that production isn’t going terribly well.

From what we know of Mass Effect Andromeda, the game will be set in the Mass Effect universe (of course) and will take place in the distant future, with new characters. There is no release window for the game just yet.
