Well this was… expected.
Batman: Return to Arkham is a HD collection of WB’s previously released Arkham games, which were originally launched on the PS3 and Xbox 360. When the collection was revealed, it had a release date of July 26. Unfortunately, it looks like it will be delayed indefinitely.
Over the WB forums, it was announced that the delay was to give the development team more time to polish up the game and deliver a solid experience. Given how there were some observations that the graphics and character models in the HD collection didn’t exactly look quite as good as the ones in the original releases, this delay is unsurprising, and even expected, to a certain extent.
“After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.”
We’ll keep you updated as soon as the game has a confirmed release date once more.
