999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors Gets Teased for Steam Release

Another fantastic visual novel comes to Steam. Maybe.

With Zero Time Dilemma coming up on the horizon, Spike Chunsoft and Zero Escape creator Kotaro Uchikoshi have taken to Twitter to tease the possibility of 999 getting a Steam release. With Danganronpa 1 and 2 getting Steam ports earlier this year, fans have been asking if the Zero Escape series would get the same treatment too. At Momocon some days ago, Spike Chunsoft and Aksys Games discussed the possibility of bringing those games to PC, and even consoles, though no official confirmation was given.

However, it looks like 999 might be getting a port pretty soon. Spike Chunsoft decided to tease fans on Twitter by showing off a video of a familiar ship coming into port…

And then Uchikoshi joined in the fun by saying it looked like a STEAM ship…

It’s pretty obvious that they’re trying to tease something here. Fans of 999 will recognize that ship as the same one from the game’s intro, so it’s highly likely we’ll hear news of a Steam release in the coming days. Most probably before the release of Zero Time Dilemma, which will be coming to Steam on June 29. It’ll also be available on the 3DS and Vita on June 28.
