Star Wars Battlefront’s Outer Rim DLC will be free for the weekend, developer DICE announced today. The promotion will run from May 13 until May 15 for all players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
As detailed earlier this year, Star Wars Battlefront’s Outer Rim DLC includes four new maps—Jabba’s Palace and the Palace Garage on Tatooine, and the SoroSuub Refiner and Pipelines on Sullust.
Players will also gain access to Outer Rim’s new game mode, Extraction, along with the expansion’s two additional playable characters, Nien Nunb and Greedo. Outer Rim specific weapons and Star Cards, however, will only be available to those who’ve purchased the DLC.
Outer Rim was the first piece of DLC released for Star Wars Battlefront. The second expansion, Bespin, will add four more maps and two new playable characters: Lando Calrissian and Dengar.
Publisher Electronic Arts revealed in their financial earnings call that a new Star Wars Battlefront game is in development for 2017. The publisher is likely to put out one Star Wars game each year, for the next three to four years, an EA exec said.
