Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice is set to release later this year.
SEGA has been sending out an online survey to thousands of fans across the world, with questions focusing on the future of Sonic the Hedgehog in video games.
The survey asks participants about their history with the franchise, their perception of Sonic as a character, and what sports they believe the anthropomorphic hedgehog is most suited to.
One particular question asks “How interested would you be in playing a Sonic game that featured the following collection of characters?”, and then goes on to list a whole bunch of recognizable brands, as seen in the image below.
SEGA, a multinational video game developer and publisher, has been producing Sonic video games for 25 years, with the most recent iteration being the Sonic Boom! series of games, which have so far been critically panned by both journalists and fans alike.
Sonic Boom! Fire & Ice is set to release later this year for the Nintendo 3DS.
Sonic has already appeared in a number of crossover titles, from the Mario & Sonic series to Super Smash Bros., and it looks as though SEGA are trying to gauge the levels of fan interest in more of these sorts of titles in the future.
