The creators of Titanfall are now knee-deep in the Star Wars universe.
To celebrate May the 4th with some exciting news, EA has announced that Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Titanfall and its upcoming sequel, is working on a third-person action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe.
The news was announced in a blog post on the EA website, which revealed that the untitled game is being worked on by a new team led by Stig Asmussen, known for his previous work on the God of War series.
Patrick Soduerlund, Executive Vice President of EA, said that he can’t wait “to see what [Respawn] can do when you combine that great attention to gameplay with the power of Star Wars.”
Respawn Entertainment is the newest studio to join a growing list of teams developing new Star Wars titles ever since EA bought the rights to the license in 2013, with Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, Motive, and more now all working on projects in the beloved franchise.
No other details have been yet revealed about the game, but we do know that Respawn’s other project – Titanfall 2 – will be given a worldwide reveal at E3 this year, on June 12.
