After revealing back in March that Elite Dangerous: Horizons is coming to the Xbox One, Frontier Developments has finally announced an official release date. The game will be launching on Xbox One on June 3.
The Xbox One version of Elite Dangerous will include both the Planetary Landings and the newly announced Engineers expansions and to quote the press release:
Together, they unlock a vast range of new features including 1:1 scale planets to explore, surface bases to raid, new mission opportunities, new loot and crafting opportunities, and the high-speed SRV Surface Recon Vehicle.
The Xbox One edition of Elite Dangerous: Horizon will include fully customizable controls and private group play.
Frontier Development also noted that all further updates to Elite Dangerous: Horizons will be released simultaneously for the Xbox One and the PC. They also revealed that further updates will include Commander creation, ship-launched fighters so players will be able to load bigger ships with short-ranged fighters, and a multi-crew feature so groups of players will be able to assume roles on the same ship.
Finally, Frontier Development revealed that from today gamers with Elite Dangerous can upgrade to Horizons for $29.99/£19.99/€24.99 and the Commander Deluxe edition for $59.99/£39.99/€49.99. These prices will be the same for the Xbox One version once it is released.
