It’s like Keanu… with zombies.
Sometimes it can seem like the only games that don’t have zombies in them are the retro gems. Hoping to fix that problem, Deep Silver has managed a 16-bit endless runner with zombie-slaughter aplenty. Called Dead Island Retro Revenge the game will be free with any pre-order purchase of the Dead Island Definitive Collection, releasing later this month.
“Hell-bent on saving his cat, Max must carve a bloody path through a zombie-infested California, tearing his way through hordes of the undead, battalions of corrupt soldiers, and a slew of evil-minded ex-cons,” Deep Silver explains in a press release. “Pull off crazy combos, collect power-ups, wield super weapons, and unleash insane magic attacks as you fight to become the amazing 16-bit side-scrolling hero you’ve always believed yourself to be!”
The game even goes as far as to promise a “level of depth beyond the genre.”
Containing the Definitive Editions of both Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, the Definitive Collection is set to release May 31. Both games will also release individually as digital downloads on the same day.
