We all know the Soulsborne games developed by From Software are meant to be challenging. We know that players are supposed to die multiple times before finally getting a taste of sweet victory, but knowing that 10% of the Dark Souls III player base on PC has yet to reach the first bonfire in the game and light it is a going a tad too far.
All jokes aside, an article on VG24/7 revealed that the Steam achievements list blatantly shows the statistics for players who have purchased and installed Dark Souls III. According to the list, around 10% of PC players have not unlocked the achievement for unlocking their first bonfire, which is only a 2-minute walk away from the start of the game, and you can get to it without having to fight any bosses. Of course, this is probably due to technical issues where the game would crash at the start, or just as players reach the bonfire itself. It could also mean that 10% of the player base bought the game and just couldn’t be bothered to play through it, or haven’t actually had the time to play it yet.
Nevertheless, it’s always interesting to take a look at Steam’s achievements lists and check out how other players have been faring.
