Huge First Look at Uncharted 4’s Wide-Open Madagascar Gameplay

With the release of Uncharted 4 fast approaching, Naughty Dog has put together a massive preview for gamers everywhere to gawk at and fall in love with. Taking place in Chapter 10 of the game, so at least a fair bit into the story, the gameplay trailer sees Nate, Sully, and Nate’s brother, Sam, headed for a volcano, in the search of pirate treasure.

Some of the first real details we’ve had about the game’s story, beyond that Nate’s brother is back and pulling him into a new adventure, the trailer shows the three men following the trail of Avery, a real-world, historically notorious British pirate who commanded an entire fleet of ships in the 17th century. It seems however, that Nadine, the new character introduced at the Game Awards last year, voiced by the ever talented Laura Bailey, is looking for the same thing: a long-lost, pooled-together pirate treasure.

What fans can truly be excited over is just how massive and open the environment is. With optional side areas, collectables to find in those areas, and the freedom to seemingly go anywhere, no Uncharted has ever felt quite like this. Add in the fact that the characters seem to have dialogue dependent on how you drive, and there’s plenty to get your mouth watering.

And that’s even before the combat starts. Marking enemies, hiding in grass, and new stealth and detection mechanics all come together to create something wholly new to the Uncharted series.

As for whether the ridiculous amount of quality will maintain itself throughout the whole game, we will just have to wait for its PS4 exclusive release on May 10. Until then, what do you think of the changes to the formula? Let us know in the comments.
