Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Gets a Moody First Trailer

Last year saw the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and next year will have episode VIII. For 2016, Disney and Lucasfilm are putting out Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first of their anthology films focused on other aspects of the epic sci-fi universe. And today, they put out the first teaser trailer, which you can check out and sets the stage for some moody action.

The film is set before A New Hope and focuses on a small group of rebels who embark on a journey to steal the plans for the original Death Star. A journey that, going off the previous track records of plans in the Star Wars universe, probably won’t be as easy as one would expect. The team, led by Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso, is also made up of Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed’s Bodhi Rook, and Ben Mendehlson. Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Jiang Wen, and Jonathan Aris also star in the film.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes to theaters on December 16.
