PlayStation 4 players can expect to get an update tomorrow which will add several cool new features to the console. According to the official PlayStation Blog, update 3.50 (codenamed MUSASHI) will start rolling out on Apr. 6.
The update will add several new features, including:
You will be able to now hide your presence online when you boot up your console. This will be useful to all those who want to play or watch a movie without being interrupted, and for those pulling a “sick day” when a big new game is released.
Friend Online Notification
This feature will give you a notification when a friend comes online. Simple, but very useful when you want to play some online multiplayer.
User Scheduled Event
On the events tab, you’ll now be able to schedule game sessions with your chums. You can send the schedule to your friends individually or as a group. When the event begins, all those who’ve accepted the invitation will automatically be added to a party. You can also share events on community pages.
This will allow all members of a party to easily see what other games players are playing and allows users to easily join them.
Remote Play for PC and Mac
The remote play function will now be compatible with both PC and Mac. The post stated:
Remote Play on Mac / PC is compatible with the following system software:
- Windows 8.1
- Windows 10 or later
- OS X 10.10
- OS X 10.11
You’ll be able to select from the following resolution and frame rate options, depending on your Internet bandwidth.
- Resolution options: 360p, 540p, 720p
- Default resolution – 540p
- Frame rate : Standard (30fps), High (60fps)
- Default frame rate – Standard (30fps)
You can use one DUALSHOCK 4 as the controller for Remote Play, which needs to be connected via a USB cable.
You will now be able to broadcast on Dailymotion.
When you share a screenshot or video, you will now be able to tag friends when you upload them to Facebook or Twitter.
PSN Status Check
You can now quickly check on whether PSN is down by going to Settings – Network.
Teen Account Creation
Parents can now create a teen account which stops players going online without parental approval.
PlayStation Plus Hub
Players with a PlayStation Plus subscription can now get easy access to their online PlayStation storage. You will also see what PlayStation Plus game friends are playing.
The PlayStation APP will also be updated tomorrow with many of the features mention above, meaning you can stay connected even when on the go.
It looks like the PlayStation experience is about to get even smoother.
