Gears of War 4’s Producer Shows Off New Weapon with Gory, Limb-Splitting Results

Ouch.
Gears of War

Epic was no stranger to gore with the Gears of War franchise, and Gears of War 4 looks to be continuing in that stable. While old weapons like the Lancer chainsaw gun are returning, there’s also new weapons, such as the Dropshot. Producer Rod Fergusson showed it off in a new Vine, and it’s certainly gonna leave some blood. And limbs.

What’s the Dropshot, you ask? Think of it as the opposite of the Digger from Gears 3. It’s a drill with an explosive charge taped onto to it that players can throw across the battlefield. When you ignite the thrusters, well…you saw the Vine. Bad things happen to whoever happens to be standing under it. And that’s just what happens at long distance. Imagine what the executions for that gun will have you do.

Gears of War 4 bloodily stomps and shoots its way to the Xbox One on October 11. Don’t forget to check out the new trailer from last night!
