Gears of War 4 Nails Down Official Release Date/Cover Art

The new entry into the series is finally on the horizon.

At long last, Gears of War 4 has gotten an official release date. Fans have been wondering every single day when they could expect to see the next entry in the series. Today, Adam Fletcher, Director of Community from developer the Coalition, revealed it on Xbox Wire. The official release date is Oct. 11 later this year, releasing worldwide on day one, exclusively for Xbox One. To put that into perspective, that’s only six months from now. With an official date put down, it feels closer than ever.

Alongside this exciting news, the official cover art was also revealed for the game via Entertainment Weekly, which you can feast your eyes on below:

If you can’t wait that long for the game, you may be able to get your hands on the multiplayer beta. If you played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on either Xbox One or Windows 10, you’ll get first access to the beta, starting April 18 on Xbox One. For the rest of you who have Xbox Live Gold memberships, the beta starts April 25, only seven days later.
