Is the iconic sequence getting the big screen treatment?
Damien Walters, a stuntman whose previous work includes Skyfall and Kingsmen: The Secret Service, has now loaned his talents to the Assassin’s Creed Movie for a certain sequence.
The sequence in question had Walters diving off a 150ft cliff, with the stuntman stating that it was a risk that the movie bosses apparently weren’t going to let Michael Fassbender, who plays protagonist Callum Lynch in the film, take.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, Walters said with reference to the dive, that “Basically, if you get that wrong and don’t land perfectly, you’re not gonna get up for a long time.” Yeah, no kidding.
However a 150ft dive, coupled with the Assassin’s Creed franchise gives credence to the view that the upcoming film may be enlisting the classic ‘Eagle’s Dive’ sequence for use. Throughout every video game entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, players have always been able to dive off of insanely high buildings or cliffs, into either the water or a haystack below.
Will we finally be witnessing the iconic sequence on the big screen? That question will be answered on December 21, when the Assassin’s Creed Movie opens in the U.S.
