Don’t Starve veterans will be pleased to learn that it has just been announced that the Don’t Starve expansion, Shipwrecked, will be seeing a release on the PlayStation 4 this Spring.
The news has been announced via the official PlayStation Blog. The post states that original developer of Don’t Starve, Klei, has given Capybara Games free reign to create a new and exciting expansion.
Shipwrecked will put players in a sunny tropical paradise and task them with surviving. The expansion will feature loads of new content such as boats, characters, items, and bosses.
The post was eager to state how much freedom Capybara Games were granted when they were asked by the original developer to make this expansion. The post reads: “Klei asked Capy if we’d be interested in creating a new expansion. They gave us no guidelines or rules for what we could do with a Don’t Starve game — just a blank canvas in the form of their amazing video game with a wickedly-committed community of diehard fans.”
Shipwrecked has already been announced for PC and it’s great to know the PlayStation 4 will also be getting it. The PC release date was March 31. An exact PS4 release date has not been stated but it must be pretty soon considering Summer is right around the corner.
