Dark Souls III: How to Get the Red Eye Orb

For the bloodthirsty champions.

The Red Eye Orb is a particularly valuable item for Dark Souls III players, especially for those who love making other players’ lives hell. The Red Eye Orb, unlike its cracked counterparts, will allow you to invade other players as much as you like with few consequences. Here’s the best part: you can get it pretty early on in the game as well.

After defeating Vordt of the Boreal Valley, head back to Firelink Shrine. Near Ludleth’s throne, you should see a new NPC dressed in all black leaning against one of the thrones. This is Leonhart. Talk to him, and he’ll give you a few Cracked Red Eye Orbs. At this point, you need to kill another player in order to progress. You can either use the Cracked Orbs to invade someone else and kill them, wait for someone to invade you and kill them, or just head to the Undead Settlement and kill the NPC invader there. After that, head back and talk to Leonhart.

He will give you a cell key that leads to an enemy who will drop the Red Eye Orb you seek. Go back to Lothric and proceed through the level as if you were going to Greirat’s cell. From the second bonfire, take the ladders all the way down until you’re on the level with the Undead holding a halberd. Turn around and you should see a locked gate. Open the gate with the cell key and you’ll find an elevator taking you to a cell with a Darkwraith.

Defeat the Darkwraith and he’ll drop the Red Eye Orb for you. Congratulations! You can now invade other players as much as you like.
