Report: A Batman Arkham HD Collection Is Coming Soon

Given that no good gaming series seems to go without an HD collection, it was perhaps inevitable that the Batman Arkham franchise would one day get a collection release of its own. However, considering that neither developer Rocksteady or publisher Warner Bros. has ever even hinted at such a release, few anticipated actually getting their hands on the collection anytime soon.

That all changed today when Eurogamer received an interesting photo from an unnamed GameStop employee that suggests the Arkham HD Collection will release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this year. The photo also says the game is currently set for a June 10th, 2016 release date while preorders will be starting on April 19th.

The reported leak is otherwise short on details but does note that the collection will feature Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City and all DLC content for both games. This means that 2015’s Arkham Knight would not be included in the set, nor is the franchise prequel Batman: Arkham Origins. However, it appears that the two games that are included will receive current-gen visual updates.

Warner Bros. has yet to comment on the validity of this rumor but, given the supposedly impending pre-order date, we should know shortly whether this anticipated collection is indeed coming soon.
