Microsoft announced today that the Xbox One was going to receive two new special edition wireless controllers.
The new pads, named Copper Shadow and Dusk Shadow, are mostly metallic-copper and metallic-blue respectively. However, they appear to have an interesting finish, each sporting a faded color gradient to black. This is a similar visual effect to that found when a metal has had a black oxide finish applied to it.
Aside from the color scheme, the controllers have the same features applied to all current Xbox One wireless pads.
The controllers are available for pre-order today at $69.99. They will hit store shelves in the United States, Canada and several Central and South American countries later this month. The pads will become available in select international countries from an undisclosed date in April.
Both pads will be available from the Microsoft Store in the U.S., with the Copper Shadow pad otherwise exclusive to GameStop and the Dusk Shadow pad a limited time Best Buy exclusive.
What do you think of the new pads? Would they tempt you to upgrade from the one you are using? Let us know in the comments.
