World of Warcraft Children’s Books Announced From Blizzard and Scholastic

Today, Blizzard has revealed that their popular World of Warcraft series is getting a series of books for young kids, titled the Traveler series. Check it out in the trailer below.

The series is meant for young kids between the ages of 8 and 12 and will have a young cast of Warcraft characters “discovering the mysteries and majesties of the world around them”. Our protagonist is a kid named Erem, the son of one of the world’s greatest explorers. Unfortunately for him, he winds up on the other end of the world and has to find his way back home.

It’ll be written by Greg Weisman (who some will remember as the man behind cartoons such as Spectacular Spider-Man, Young Justice, and Gargoyles) and also include full page sketches and illustrations by Blizzard artist Samwise Didier. The cover will be done by Blizzard artist Stephane Belin. And, in case you were wondering, yes: the events in the books will be canon.

World of Warcraft: Traveler’s first hardcover book will hit in November 2016.
