The cult classic returns.
For many, Toonami was the first place they were introduced to such iconic anime as Dragonball Z, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, and much more. Now the programming block is partnering up with Production I.G to co-produce two new seasons of cult classic FLCL, as announced on Toonami’s Facebook page.
According to the announcement there will be 12 new episodes in total, being split into two 6-episode seasons just like the first. Seasons 2 and 3 will serve as direct sequels to the original series, which was released way back in the year 2000. That’s all the information Toonami has announced so far.
Production I.G has helped produce several well known anime series in the past including Ghost in the Shell, The End of Evangelion, Blood: The Last Vampire, and the original FLCL.
Toonami’s current line-up includes Dragonball Z Kai, Parasyte: The Maxim, Naruto: Shippuden, One Piece, and more.
