Star Ocean 5’s success could help with a new Valkyrie Profile
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen an entry in the Valkyrie Profile series, with the last game Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria releasing in 2006. With another Square Enix series coming back soon, Star Ocean 5’s producer hopes there might be a chance for another Valkyrie Profile.
During a Dengeki Online livestream Shuichi Kobayashi, Star Ocean 5’s producer talked about this hope. Thanks to siliconera for the information. Dengeki asked him about the series after they featured BGM from Valkyrie Profile 2 that’s in Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness.
Kobayashi noted that much of the possibility of a new game would rely on the sales of Star Ocean 5. After being told the game might have a rough time on the market, he hopes people will show support for similar titles.
“If only people started playing all kinds of different games, then there might be a way to survive. Honestly speaking, I have written proposal plans for it on my computer. Hurry and let me show it!”
Nothing is confirmed yet, but if the marketplace shows enough support we could see the third installment in Valkyrie Profile. Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness launches this summer on PS4 and PS3 in North America. Two new trailers for the game recently introduced its main heroes, Fidele and Miki
