If you were someone hoping to get your hands on Shadow Moses, the fanmade remake to the first game in the iconic Metal Gear Solid series, you’re not gonna like this news. Today, the team took to Facebook to declare that they’re no longer working on it due to “forces outside of their control”. Still, they wanted to thank everyone who supported them during development.
The project, first revealed back in January, was to be made completely in Unreal Engine 4 as a shot-for-shot remake of the game that kicked off Konami’s legendary franchise. It was an eventuality that the team would have to get Konami’s permission–in fact, they’ve even said that they knew they’d need permission from the publisher, and openly announcing the project from the start was part of their plan. But Konami decided to pull the plug on Shadow Moses, something no one is happy about, going off the comments.
