Naughty Dog Shares the Evolution of Uncharted in First Episode of A Thief’s End Series

The first episode of The Making of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is now available, and it’s titled The Evolution of the Series. It runs about eight minutes and gives the viewer a chance to look over the history of the series through retrospective interviews with the likes of Uncharted 4’s Creative Director Neil Druckmann, Game Director Bruce Straley, many notable voice actors and more.

The episode looks at each installment of Uncharted from the minds, voices and hands behind the games, as well as a look into Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic character driven title The Last of Us. The team looks back at their experience creating these adventures over the past ten years and how they have influenced the game they’re creating now.

“We’re calling this first episode The Evolution of a Franchise. It’s a great way to kick off this ‘Making of’ series as we take a brief look at how Naughty Dog and the Uncharted series has evolved since Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune made its debut on PlayStation 3 in 2007, including the influence of The Last of Us on the team and our development process,” wrote Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arne Meyer.

The video is the first of a five episodes to be released, with the other four rolling out throughout March and April according to the PlayStation’s blog released alongside the video. The next episode is titled Growing up With Drake.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is scheduled to release on across the world on May 10, 2016.
