Tomb Raider starts its 20th anniversary with a charity drive.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Tomb Raider franchise. Crystal Dynamics are planning several events to celebrate this milestone, and the first involves teaming up with the GameChanger charity to give away prizes for donations.
GameChanger is a charity that supports children with life-threatening illnesses in a variety of ways. The charity donates money towards cancer cure research as well as scholarships and financial aid. They also collaborate with game developers and publishers to give away gaming gear and run promotions like this one.
From March 29 to April 5, donations to the Tomb Raider & GameChanger campaign will come with a few prizes from Crystal Dynamics. Anyone who donates $1 or more will get a digital PC copy of the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot.
Donations of $20 or more include the game as well as entries into two sweepstakes. The first includes a collector’s edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider and prizes from Crystal Dynamics in a bundle valued at $89.99. The second sweepstakes is for GameChanger’s grand prize, which includes an Xbox One, five Xbox One games and accessories for the console. That bundle is valued at over $600.
Donations of $50 or more get the previous prizes and a GameChanger Gratitude package. This comes with a personalized letter and various prizes from the company. Also, the first 25 people to donate $50 get a Tomb Raider poster.
GameChanger has more details on the campaign on their website. There will be more anniversary events for the Tomb Raider series throughout the year, so keep an eye on their official pages for details on what’s next.
