Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei Gets New Name and Release Date

Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei, Nintendo, Atlus, Tokyo Mirage Sessoins

The long awaited crossover project is finally coming to North America.

One of the more surprising crossovers ever announced was Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei back in 2013. Details trickled out about the collaboration between Nintendo and Atlus over the last couple years, until it finally released in Japan last winter.

Today during their Nintendo Direct, the company announced a brand new name for the North American version of the game along with a release date. The game has been rebranded as Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. The stylish Japanese RPG is set in modern day Tokyo with a story that’s inspired by the “adrenaline-fueled fun of a pop idol concert.” Fire Emblem characters make appearances in the game, while the gameplay style could be compared to Atlus’ own Persona series.

Nintendo also confirmed that to keep with the theme of the game they’d be leaving in the original Japanese voice track for the game, and just adding in English subtitles.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE will hit the Wii U on June 24. Take a look at a gameplay trailer for the game that released last year. Are you excited for the upcoming RPG on Wii U?
