Way better than the original.
By now, you’ve more than likely seen the very not good and generic looking cover to Bethesda’s upcoming Doom. To say that not a lot of people were big fans of this would be an understatement (check out some photoshops that really show how interchangeable it is), so id and Bethesda thankfully decided to hold a contest for a reverse sleeve cover on Twitter. Today, they’ve announced their winner, which you can see below.

The cover is a callback to the cover of the original game released way back in 1994, where the Space Marine was fighting off hordes of demons from Hell. Y’know, just the usual deal. If you see this, you’re probably wondering why this isn’t just the original cover for the game. That sadly isn’t the case, but you can make that decision for yourself when you pick up the game, so that counts for something, right?
Doom brutalizes its way to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 13. If you pre-order it on Xbox, you get the first two games as backwards compatible titles!
