Pokemon I Choose You is the title for the 20th Pokemon movie and it just so happens to also be the 20th anniversary of Pokemon. Announced back in December, this film takes viewers back to Pallet Town to show more back-story on Ash Ketchum’s first few days as a Pokemon trainer.

Today, The Pokemon Company has released a new trailer for the summer flick, which shows Ash and Pikachu not getting along at all. This re-telling of the first episodes of the highly-popular anime series looks glorious and cinematic while also keeping true to the roots of the show. You can watch the trailer here:

Pokemon, I Choose You is set to hit Japanese theaters on July 15, but a Western release date has yet to be announced. We hope that this brand new Pokemon movie reaches theaters somewhere in the West, even if it’s limited.

What did you guys think of the trailer? Does the nostalgia factor make you wanna go see this movie? Let us know in the comments!
