Nathan Drake didn’t mean to steal that one.

The new Uncharted 4 story trailer had an unexpected Easter egg that many viewers noticed. A piece of concept art from Assassin’s Creed IV was found in the trailer with no real explanation. Apparently this was done in error, because the trailer has been re-edited to remove that art.

The updated trailer has been posted, and the new art piece can be seen at 1:36.

Alongside this new trailer, Naughty Dog posted a very brief blog explaining why they had to edit it.

In our eagerness to get the story trailer out we made a regrettable mistake and didn’t thoroughly vet the art work used for an in game painting. We’ve already updated the trailer. We hold all artistry in high regard and take full responsibility for having allowed this to happen.

We want to sincerely apologize to everyone at Ubisoft, the Assassin’s Creed team, the original artist, and our fans.

Nathan Drake may be a professional thief, but Naughty Dog are a bit more careful about borrowing things that aren’t theirs. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End comes to PlayStation 4 on April 26.
