As fast as Resident Evil and Dead Rising 3.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen keeps chugging along, and is now Capcom’s fastest selling PC game of all time. This news comes via MCV which spoke to Capcom who were then able to confirm the impressive start.
“We are extremely pleased with the performance of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. It is our fastest-selling PC title to date, thanks to an audience eagerly waiting for it, and us delivering to the level of quality gamers were expecting,” marketing director Antoine Molant told MCV.
“Based on a similar sales period, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is in the Capcom’s Top Three PC releases after these few weeks, along with Resident Evil and Dead Rising 3.” source: MCV
Dragon’s Dogma originally launched back in 2012 on consoles to fairly positive reviews from both critics and fans. The PC version of Dark Arisen, an enhanced port, seems to really be digging its hooks into PC gamers, and is receiving even higher praise than its predecessor. Our very own senior editor Ishmael Romero, especially loved it, giving it an exemplary review score of 5/5.
Still, despite the fast start on PC, the MCV article also makes note that the console sales of Dark Arisen were initially stronger thanks to a bigger pre-launch marketing push. Still, good news for Capcom and for people that like good action games. Whether these strong sales will lead to a new follow up remains to be seen.
