As we mentioned above, getting scrap relies on your cards and getting it as fast as possible relies on your knowledge of how the cards work. Before diving into all of that, let’s talk about why you even need it in Gears 4.

What Scrap Is Used For in Gears 4

Scrap is a form of currency in Gears 4 and it’s used to craft cards. To craft a card, select one of the game’s card categories: Bounty, Versus, Horde or Customization (which includes Characters, Weapon Skins and Emblems).

Select the category you want by pressing X and this will take you into the crafting menu. In here, you’ll see a ton of cards you can craft and the amount of scrap you’ll need to do so.

How to Destroy Cards to Get Scrap

If you’re after scrap and aren’t all that worried about the cards you currently have, you can destroy your cards to earn additional scrap.

To do this, select the card you wish to destroy and press X. This will bring up some additional options such as the option to destroy this single card or destroy this single card plus duplicates. Select what you wish and watch as your card is converted into the currency you’re after.

Now that we know how to get scrap and how the system works in Gears 4, let’s talk about the best way to get it fast.

Here’s How to Get Scrap Fast in Gears 4

Unfortunately, other than scrapping the cards you already have and don’t care for, you’re going to need to shell out some real money (or if you’re lucky, use the credits you’ve already built up).

The quickest method to get this currency comes by way of purchasing Operations and Horde booster packs. The Horde pack will cost you 400 credits or $o.99 while the Operations pack will cost you 1000 credits or $1.99. You can see where this might get expensive.

Essentially, what you’re going to do is purchase these packs, open them and immediately destroy all of the cards within. The reason this is the fastest method to get scraps is because on average, the Operations and Horde booster packs contain cards that break down to give you the highest amount of scraps.
