This footage premiered at a 10th anniversary event in Tokyo. Kazuma Kiryu is shown fighting off mobsters and practicing his free-running skills by leaping between rooftops in the demo.

According to Gematsu, series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi stated that this game is only about 60 to 70 percent complete. Nagoshi said that the main theme of this game is “freedom”, so the free-roaming aspect of the series will be expanded even further. That means more Japanese landmarks to visit, more stores to enter and hopefully more emulated arcade games.

Yakuza 6’s release date is set for late 2016 in Japan. The last game in the series was released worldwide this December after a surprise announcement.
