Featuring a tiny, adorable Cloud Strife.
World of Final Fantasy immediately stood out at E3 with its super-deformed character designs and numerous references to early games in the series. The latest trailer for the game shows some of its combat systems, which include monster catching and classic turn-based action.
The trailer shows small monsters accompanying the party throughout. At 1:33, it reveals that you can capture monsters to use for combat or solving puzzles.
This game’s turn-based combat is more reminiscent of classic Final Fantasy than the action-based system in XV.
The monster catching system is robust, allowing you to train and evolve each monster. It appears that support monsters are incorporated into every battle in the game, and powerful summons like Behemoth can also help in combat.
The game’s cute art style is also highlighted as well, especially when a tiny Cloud Strife speaks to the party in his regular, brooding voice.
World of Final Fantasy is coming to PlayStation 4 and Vita in 2016. What do you think of the game’s focus on catching and raising monsters? Let us know in the comments.
