First appearing on our screens in 1992 as Mario’s antagonist in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, Wario ended up taking the title of the 1994 third installation, known as Wario Land, where he switched to become the protagonist.  He starred in many Wario Land games since then including titles such as Wario Land 2, 3 and 4, Wario World and more recently Wario Land: Shake It! for the Nintendo Wii in 2008.  The WarioWare series of games extended his franchise even more with a mini-game party style series including WarioWare: Twisted! on the GameBoy Advance, WarioWare: Smooth Moves for the Wii, and the game that started the series off, WarioWare Inc.: Mega Microgames!, again for the Advance.
