Fallout 4: How to Craft and Upgrade Your Power Armor

Among all of the questing and wandering of the wasteland that you’ll be doing in Fallout 4, there is an absolute ton of opportunities to utilize your crafting and design skills. Whether you decide to build some awe-inspiring settlements, create a fancy light show on the side of your building, upgrade your weapons to a powerhouse of a weapon, or just tinker with your power armor, you won’t be left wanting when it comes to crafting in Fallout 4.

When you first begin the game and step into the power armor for the first time, the suit is quite weak and could do with a bit of love and care. To do this, you’re going to want to head back to one of the settlements you probably walked past on the way to Concord. Once you’ve dealt with the enemies in Concord and spoken to Garvey, keep the power armor equipped and simply make way for the nearest settlement.

Once you arrive there, walk over to the armor crafting frame and stand really close to it before holding down X/A. Once you’ve exited the power armor suit, you should now have the option to ‘Craft’ using the armor crafting frame.

Now that you’re in the crafting menu, you can repair damaged pieces by pressing the Triangle/ Y button. We’d definitely recommend this as nobody wants their power armor crapping out mid-way through combat.
