So a god and a robot walk into a bar…
Today at New York Comic Con, Disney Interactive fleshed out the gameplay mechanics and storyline for their new Disney Infinity 3.0 Marvel Play Set — Marvel Battlegrounds.
This new storyline features the ever present Loki and robot psychopath Ultron attempting to of course rule not only the world but also the universe. During this event, Loki and Ultron create robotic copies of Marvel heroes and villains to scrap it out in Wakanda, and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Lunar Base. With their robotic copycats, Loki and Ultron will distract the Marvel characters while they attempt to steal an Infinity Stone.
In Disney Infinity 3.0‘s Marvel Battlegrounds Play Set, it will be the first time the game features four player gameplay. It’s not clear on if it’s local cooperative gameplay or online only interaction. These questions might be addressed during their live stream of Marvel Battlegrounds on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
Also announced today, was a new figure to be released alongside Marvel Battlegrounds in March of 2016. This new figure is a redesigned Captain America, whose costume is similar to the one he wore in Avengers: Age of Ultron. His move set is completely different from the previous Captain America figure from Disney Infinity 2.0.
The older Marvel heroes and villain figures will also receive a move set update, to compliment the newest features that are being added in Marvel Battlegrounds.
