The Star Wars: Battlefront’s Community Manager, Mathew Everett, has announced on the Star Wars blog that the game’s upcoming beta will be open to everyone.
According to his post, the Beta will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and to PC users via Origin and will include both the offline and online content, as well as co-op and split-screen co-op options.
While in the Beta, players will be able to check out the recently revealed Drop Zone mode on Sullust, as well as the beta version of Survival Mode on Tatooine, which players will be able to take on solo, online, or in couch co-op. For those who don’t know, Drop Zone is a King of the Hill-style mode where two teams of eight compete to capture and secure five drop pods in a 10-minute game.
Unfortunately, Everett didn’t reveal when the Beta will launch, but he did answer some community questions which revealed that players won’t be able to customize vehicle loadouts because, “Vehicles in Star Wars Battlefront come with their own weapons and abilities that make them authentic to the Star Wars universe.”
He also revealed that EA will indeed be releasing a physical version of the Star Wars: Battlefront Deluxe Edition and that all Deluxe Editions will come with the Ion Grenade, Ion Torpedo, and DL-44 unlocked right away, as well as the exclusive Ion Shock and Victory Emotes.
