Sega Has Delayed Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice For Quality Reasons

The newest Sonic title has been given a vague 2016 release date to give the devs more time to polish.

Sega recently took to their blog to announce that they have delayed Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice until sometime in 2016.

According to the blog post, the reason for this delay was to ” to make sure the game has the time and polish needed.” This is also the reason why Sega didn’t announce when in 2016 Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will be released.

According to the post, “while the downside is that you won’t be playing the game this year, the upside is that what you’ll play next year, and what fans will continue to play for years after they pick up the game, will be a stronger, more enjoyable experience.”

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice was announced back in June and is coming exclusively to the Nintendo 3DS. The game will see players racing through levels while using the fire and ice powers to interact with certain obstacles. Players will also be able to switch between the five playable characters and the announcement trailer revealed that the game will also include some “huge” boss fights.
