There’s a Hidden PT/Silent Hills Reference in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Thanks for reminding us of Silent Hills, Kojima.

Back in April, Konami’s announcement that they were canceling Silent Hills came as a massive disappointment to gamers, especially since the PS4 exclusive PT demo was an awesome horror experience. Well, it turns out that Kojima hasn’t forgotten about it either, because a YouTuber called Arekkz Gaming has found a hidden reference to Silent Hills/ PT in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The reference can be found in a tent in the Angola-Zaire Border Region in the Ngumba Industrial Zone via a short radio broadcasting explaining the events of the game. You can check out the radio broadcasting in the video below.

It’s these sort of fourth wall breaking moments that fans love about Hideo Kojima and the Metal Gear Solid series as a whole, so it will be interesting to see what other references/easter eggs fans will find now that the game has been released. It’s not as if Phantom Pain isn’t large enough to hide a couple.

So, what do you think of this reference and what are your opinions on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain so far? Let us know in the comments below.
