Sony started the Tokyo Game Show proceedings today, and opened the show in a big way. After announcing a new Bloodborne expansion, the company officially announced a PS4 remaster of the 2012 PlayStation Vita game Gravity Rush, as well as a full blown sequel.
Known as Gravity Daze in Japan, the game focuses on Kat a girl who had lost her memory, as she stumbles upon a mysterious black cat that grants her the ability to control gravity itself. The PlayStation 4 remaster is set to release on December 10, 2015 in Japan. A special edition will be available in Japan as well, featuring a figma statue of the protagonist Kat.
Alongside this announcement, Sony unveiled a trailer for Gravity Daze 2, a brand new entry that will release on the PlayStation 4 in 2016. The new game sports the same beautiful cel-shaded look of it’s predecessor, but looks even more incredible this time around.
Although no details were given, Sony also announced a special animation project would soon begin production for the Gravity Daze series as well.
No western release date has been set for either game as of yet. It’s nice to see Sony give such strong support to one of the most unique games in recent years, and one of the Vita’s very best games.
