Final Fantasy Adventure is Getting Remade Again

The game that started the Mana series is getting it’s time in the sun again.

Square Enix has announced that the classic game Final Fantasy Adventure is officially getting a remake for iOS, Android, and PlayStation Vita. The game originally released on the Game Boy in 1991. It was a bit of a deviation for developer Square as it didn’t feature the turn-based battle system that other Final Fantasy games did, but rather something more like the original Legend of Zelda with a top-down camera.

In fact many people may know this game under a different name, Sword of Mana. It was in fact the predecessor to Secret of Mana, and recieved a remake in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance where it was renamed Sword of Mana. This entry was a little more than a remake, as it completely revamped almost everything in the game from the characters and story sequences to the game play.

The new remake is going to be coming in 2016, although there’s no word on a western release as of yet. The game looks to be sticking more to the original style of the game, and will apparently be sticking to the same scenario of the original as well. Have you played any of the Mana games before? Would you be interested in experiencing the game that created the series again? Let us know in the comments.
