New Xbox One Bundle Replaces a Pack-in Game with an Elite Controller This November

Ooh, shiny!

Director of Programming for Xbox Live Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announces Microsoft’s latest bundle for the Xbox One. With the recently revealed $150 Xbox One Elite controller heading October 27th, Microsoft compiles the highly intricate controller to an Xbox One console for $499.99. GameStop and Microsoft stores (online and on site) worldwide will sell this bundle starting November 3rd.

Additional features include a 1 TB Solid State Hybrid Drive to help optimize console performance and save energy consumption. Major Nelson notes that the hard drive “Stores frequently-accessed files on a solid state partition and optimizes system performance so [sic] you can get to the action up to 20 percent faster from energy-saving mode. ”

The bundle doesn’t just pack one controller, but it includes the Lunar White Wireless Controller mixing white, black and gold. Seen below, this luminous controller retails for $64.99 MSRP exclusive to GameStop stores outside of the bundle. GameStop will sell this controller at that price in late September.

What this bundle does not include is a pack-in game. Typically, previous bundles have a 500 GB hard drive, one controller, and a game for under $400. WIthout the game, you still get an additional controller and double the memory with the Elite bundle. That’s $349 for the console and controller, $150 for the Elite controller, and an unmarked value for solid state hybrid drive doubling the standard 500 GB to a single terabyte.
