This news was announced on Twitter by CVS- Kris who showed an image of the game running on a Nintendo 3DS with the caption “WIP Bottom Screen obviously not finished, but LOOK- We aren’t lying, we really ARE working on 3DS/Wii-U/PS4/Vita!” Unfortunately however CVS – Kris didn’t give a release date.

Volgarr the Viking started off on Kickstarter where with the help of 1,608 backers it raised $39,964 and was released for the Xbox One, PC and Steam. The game is a love letter to a time in gaming where games were punishingly difficult. It’s a 16-bit styled side scrolling action platformer with simple controls, tons of blood and a need to see you die.

Back in 2013, we reviewed the PC version of Volgarr the Viking and gave it a 4 out of 5. We praised it for its great level design, getting the retro essence “pretty perfectly” and for its brutal difficulty.
