After an impressively confusing tweet from Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford in 2014, it has been a long process deciphering what Battleborn actually is. Thanks to a new trailer, at least the game’s release date of Feb 9, 2016 is confirmed.
The newly revealed characters Reyna, Mellka, Benedict, and Ambra are highlighted in the trailer. 2K Games and Gearbox also announced an open beta for Battleborn will be held, but haven’t given details as to when it will start.
Battleborn was introduced with a massive set of features including 25 playable characters, a story mode with co-operative multiplayer, and three separate competitive modes. The beta should show how all these parts interact and hopefully explain what “hobby-grade co-op campaign” and “meta-growth” actually mean.
