The ‘playable teaser’ P.T. had gamers around the world grabbing for the nearest pillow. Following all the Konami drama, Allison Road looks set to take its place and it looks incredible…and terrifying.
This comes following the news that the upcoming Silent Hills game, the love child of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, was officially cancelled a few months ago. Fans cried out for Konami to reconsider the decision but to no such avail. Coming under the name Allison Road, the project is a first-person survival horror game currently in development by newly founded UK studio Lilith Ltd. If you’re after more info, this is what the developers had to say about it:
You will take on the role of the unnamed protagonist who wakes up one day without any recollection of prior events.
Over the course of five nights, it is your objective to uncover the whereabouts of your family, unravel the mysteries of the house, and face off against [dark entities] that are nested deep within the house, while the clock is relentlessly ticking towards 3:00am.
What would you do if you could feel something stalking you in the dark in the safety of your own home?
If you couldn’t tell what’s real and what’s not?
Sound familiar? We thought so too. But that’s not all that we’ve seen of the game. Just below is a 13 minute video of Allison Road in action, and we’re mighty impressed at the potential of this game.
According to the developer, Allison Road takes great care in rendering an actual house, which means the images and footage found below really have to be seen to be believed. Photorealism and an insane attention to detail are the order of the day for Allison Road. Oh and if Allison Road‘s inspiration from P.T. wasn’t obvious enough already, maybe this image showing the phrase “dad was such a drag” scribbled over a wall will cement it for eternity.
As of the time of writing, Allison Road has only been confirmed for the PC. But fingers crossed we’ll see it announced for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 so everyone can enjoy the closest thing we’re ever going to see to another Silent Hills game.
