Fallout Shelter has blown up since it was unveiled at E3 last month. Not only did it debut at #1 on Apple’s App Store for free game apps and receive 70 million plays per day in its first week, but the game that Bethesda did not make to make money made $5.1 million in its first two weeks. Now, Bethesda has announced the release date for Fallout Shelter to reach all those Android users at QuakeCon: August 13.
This date will not just be the date of release for the Android edition of Fallout Shelter, but also new features for both iOS and Android versions, as well. New game updates will arrive, including Mr. Handy as a premium reward and new creatures like Deathclaws and Molerats. Mr. Handy will be able to collect resources from inside your vault, sent to collect loot out in the wasteland, or use him to help defend your vault dwellers against invasions and creature infestations. And with the addition of Deathclaws and Molerats, you’re going to need all the help you can get.
Soon, Android fans will be sinking hours into this game when Fallout Shelter is released for free on Google Play. I know I sunk a whole day into the game before my iPhone battery died. Now that it’s getting this huge update, I think I’ll jump back into a new vault on my Android tablet.
What about you? Are you excited for the new update? Have you been missing out on Fallout Shelter because you don’t have an iOS device? Have you left and are now thinking of returning to the vault next month?
