EA still has some things to do for the first time in their NHL series’ such as a Hockey League Beta so EA decided to make NHL 16 the first game to ever have an online beta phase. EA announced this earlier today and claims that the mode has been revamped.
This fan-favorite online team mode has been reimagined and lets you choose specialized player classes to deliver a balanced competitive experience on the ice. Player skill and your ability to play as a team will now be the determining factor in who wins and loses.
The Hockey League Beta will be available for PS4 and Xbox One from July 30 and ends Aug. 6. To participate in the beta, all you have to do is download the NHL 16 EASHL beta which will be available through NHL 15‘s main menu once it goes live. The beta won’t be featured on PS3 or Xbox 360, although if you have upgraded NHL 15 from PS3 to PS4 or from Xbox 360 to Xbox One then you will be entered in a random and limited distribution of beta access codes.
NHL 16 launches on Sept. 15 for PS4 and Xbox One while NHL 16 Legacy Edition will release on the same day for PS3 and Xbox 360.
