A new trailer for Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon has been released on the PokemonCoJp YouTube channel, showing off new gameplay footage.
The trailed (found above) shows off what players can expect the game to look like upon its release. Unfortunately, the trailer is in Japanese, but that doesn’t mean we can’t pull a few bits out from the trailer.
In the trailer, you can see the player travelling around the region both by land and by sea. Interestingly the region looks pretty large and could provide a whole lot of exploration to gather new items or accrue your collection of partner Pokémon.
Speaking of partner Pokémon, according to a thread on Neogaf, the trailer talks about the return of the personality test. For those who are unfamiliar with this term, the personality test in previous games of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series consisted of a set of questions. The answer to each question would add a few points to a certain nature. Each nature would be linked to a particular starter Pokémon and a gender for each of them too.
However, in the previous games the personality test would determine the Pokémon you were, instead of the partner Pokémon that would work alongside you. Of course certain details can get lost in translation but for now we know the personality test is making a return. It also looks like the game will have a total of 20 starter Pokémon available, adding a few more to the roster from previous games such as Lucario.
The trailer also shows off some of the legendary Pokémon players can expect to come across in the game. Latios, Latias, Kyogre, Lugia and others all get a few seconds in the spotlight of the trailer.
