During Square Enix’s E3 press conference, game director of Rise of the Tomb Raider, Bryan Horton took to the stage to reveal new details on the upcoming adventure game.
Horton focused a lot on the new details and techniques that the team at Crystal Dynamic and Square Enix have been able to implement in Rise of the Tomb Raider and have only been made possible now.
The behind the scenes look showed off how the team is bringing Lara to life. All the characters are now more believable and have even built Lara from the ground up. Horton detailed how the have even added pores on the skin of characters as well as eyelashes. He also went on to talk about how the visual of the characters will react to the environment around them.
For example if Lara is at the top of a snow covered mountain during heavy snowfall, snowflakes will land on her eyelashes and will also accumulate on her clothing. Essentially Lara now fits in the environment that she is in. Rise of the Tomb Raider, implements this new engine style as opposed to the bone driven system of the past and adds a new level of experience to the game.
