It’s one of those times of the year where PC gamers rejoice and cry at the same time. We rejoice as we get so many amazing deals on games we’ve been contemplating buying, we cry because our wallets will never be the same again. Here’s the low-down on what you can pick up on the first day of the Steam Summer Sale of 2015.
So the Daily Deals get a good 48 hours on an awesome offer. 24 as the front page deals and then another 24 in case you missed out. I know, kinda weird considering they’re called ‘daily’ deals. To help you grab some of the best deals that the Steam Summer Sale has to offer, here are our top three picks for the debut day.
Today Grand Theft Auto as a franchise is getting some love. Grand Theft Auto V is obviously the front runner and has a nice discount of 25% off. Even if you have played the latest iteration in the series before, the ability to mod the game and watch as chaos unfolds right in front of your eyes is definitely a reason to give it a go. That and seeing Los Santos even more beautiful than ever.
Not only this, but the rest of the games in the series have been slashed in price by 75%! Ever wanted to go back and replay San Andreas or Vice City? Well now is the time to pick them up for pennies.
Next up is Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. The sequel to the much loved indie action title of 2012. If you’ve been unsure on whether or not to pick up Hotline Miami 2, it’s 33% off. As a daily deal, you won’t see it much lower than this for the next 10 days of the sale. Reasons to keep holding out are at a minimum here, so maybe just go ahead and pick it up already.
Don’t want to take my word for it, check out our review here. We liked it quite a bit. Have we convinced you? Let us take you to the store page.
If you’re a fan of Telltale Games and their storytelling genius that they put into every game, you might wanna check out Tales from the Borderlands: A Telltale Series. It combines all the charisma of the Borderlands series and spins it into a narrative driven, adventure experience.
You’ll play as Rhys, a Hyperion ‘suit’ with dreams of being the next Handsome Jack, and Fiona, a Pandoran con artist looking to score her biggest ever swindle. Thrown together as unwilling partners in an adventure to recover cash they both think is theirs, their journey will take you on a wild ride where gangsters, bandit lords, and Vault Hunters are just some of the obstacles you’ll encounter, in this new take on the award-winning universe created by Gearbox Software.
Still sound good? Well you can get the entire 5 part episodic experience at 50% off. As with the previous two titles, Tales from the Borderlands is a daily deal and as a result, it likely won’t get any cheaper than this in the duration of this Steam Summer Sale. Go on, treat yourself.
Of course, there’s still plenty of other amazing games out in the wild of the Steam Summer Sale you can pick up at a ridiculous offer today. With all the recent buzz around XCOM 2 being announced, it would be rude not to give an honorable mention to the incredible daily deal of XCOM: Enemy Unknown + The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The duo, offering a literal ton of playtime is currently 85% off. If you’ve been interested in what you’ve heard about XCOM 2, the Steam Summer Sale has your back.
Another bargain just begging to be bought is the critically acclaimed RPG Valkyria Chronicles at 75% off. If you’ve been craving for a huge RPG to get your teeth into over the summer months, this will give you endless hours of gameplay in a fictitious continent reminiscent of the 1930s. The game depicts Europe divided in two and ruled by two super powers: the Empire and the Federation. During the war the Federation finds out that the Empire possesses a secret and deadly weapon know, strangely enough, as “Valkyria” – an ancient race with special powers that people only believed existed within legends. The “Valkyria” are a complete game-changer and put the whole future of the continent hanging in the balance of whether or not the Federation can turn the tide of the war.
